Eczema Treatment
Eczema is a disorder of the skin in which the epidermis layer swells and appears reddish. Skin becomes dry, itchy and blisters can be seen on either whole body or specific parts.
Irritation and reddishness can be felt in affected areas which in some cases may even bleed. Usually eczema occurs due to some reaction; but the existence of hereditary eczema problems can also be one of the causes.
The chances of suffering from eczema are more in winter period as compared to other seasons and proper care must be taken in the early stages to prevent further complications. As there can be multiple reasons causing eczema, it is important to first find out the root cause and then follow proper treatment.
Few causes can be using perfumes, wearing silk or leather clothes, eating cashew nuts or consuming specific fruits or vegetables, reaction of a soap or beauty cream and other environmental factors. Again, the causes for eczema may differ from an individual to individual and hence you must figure out the root cause for yourself and not judge on somebody’s condition.
Once you have figured out the main cause for yourself, stop using or consuming that cause. Now you can treat your eczema by following simple treatments. First of all do not wear tight fitting clothes. Do not scratch the affected area; if you can’t stop scratching then cover it or tie your hands.
Keep applying moisturizer to the affected area as this will reduce the dryness and the itchy feeling thus reducing the irritation.
While taking a bath, always use warm water and apply moisturizer immediately to retain the natural moisture levels. Applying primrose oil and borage oil to the affected region can prove beneficial. You also need to keep a strict watch on your diet. Dairy products, nuts, wheat, caffeine, etc should be strictly avoided as these food products have been known to cause or trigger eczema.
Consulting an expert dermatologist can be a preferred option if the condition of the patient deteriorates and the affected parts start to bleed. In either case, do not worry and take timely actions to get rid of this condition.
