Dysmenorrhoea is a Lot of Trouble
Every woman has her own threshold to bear the pain. Therefore the exact limit of painful menses cannot be defined. Mostly women take pain killers and carry on with the work but some other women may find it hard enough to bear and take a leave.
We are talking about Dysmenorrhoea here. About 50% of women suffer form this problem in their life. It needs to be understood that when the body express pain it means there is some problems. There is a need to get yourself checked. Apart from pain and heavy bleeding there are much more signs and symptoms of Dysmenorhoea.
Many women experience acute nausea and vomiting. The worse is occurrence of constipation or even diarrhea. Some even faint due to excess stress and pain. There is quite a disturbance at the brain level. They might not be able to handle emotional problems and feel to be left alone. This condition is often accompanied by headaches. There is obvious exhaustion and lethargy due to so much trouble.
The pain is more severe on the lower tummy. Lower back may also experience some discomfort. Such a dysmenorrhoea is called congestive dysmenorrhoea. When cramps and contractions are felt followed by pain then such a dysmenorrhoea is called spasmodic dysmenorrhoea.
Under these circumstances supplementation becomes very important. You will need vitamin B6 to let “feel good” prostaglandins be produced in body. This vitamin will help in reducing your pain. Vitamin B 1 provides a similar effect and works synergistically to improve pain. Similarly Vitamin B12 is also given.
Vitamin E works as a powerful antioxidants and is also given for supplementation. Vitamin C, Bioflavanoids and Zinc help in providing relaxation to the body spasms. There is an interesting enzyme called brome lain. This is found in pineapples and has amazing anti-inflammatory properties. It helps in decreasing pain and relaxes contractions experienced in dysmenorrhoea.
