Dry Skin Care

January 8, 2009

Every one desires for a skin that feels healthy and looks beautiful. But change in climate does not let our skin appear healthy always. Dry weather brings the problem of dry skin along with it.
Dry skin is the one that looks dull, scaly and wrinkled, and lack of moisture makes our skin look worse .
Proper care should be taken to fight the dryness of skin and make it look smooth all time irrespective of the weather outside.

The dry skin problem is very common in dry season like in winters. The care of the skin should be taken to increase the moisture level of our skin. First and foremost thing to keep in mind to prevent drying of skin is never cleanse your skin with hot water since heat and hot water reduces the moisture level of our skin.

You should never rub your skin harsh with towel, and always should pat dry your skin. And yes of course, just like you, your skin also need pampering, so do pamper your skin with a massage using a moisturizer,
which would increase the moisture level of your skin and hence leaving it smooth and soft.

Massaging your skin with herbal oils help the skin layers to lock the moisture content in them, and would look moisturized and healthy. Do not use alcohol based cleansers for your skin. Avoid using fragranced soaps as they contain chemicals which take away moisture from the skin.

Applying a mixture of honey, egg, olive oil and rose water on the face makes your skin look moisturized, and is a very good home remedy for dry skin. Counting on the tips to treat the dry skin, one cannot miss the eating habits as well. You should have a balanced diet.

The diet you eat should include fruits, carbohydrates, milk and milk products, and yellow and orange vegetables like carrot, these category of vegetables have rich anti oxidants. You should avoid eating junk food like chips, deep dried food etc. Taking proper care of your skin in the right way would make you
and your skin happy and healthy.
