Dried Fruits as daily health snacks. The rich choice of gift for any festive occasion is fruits and nuts. These days chocolate items too are selling like hot buns. But did you know that these dried fruits and chocolate coated fruits are actually healthier snack options.

Let’s begin with chocolate coated fruits like strawberries and goji berries. Though the divine strawberries coated with dark chocolate are quite common and the next big flavor seems to be fresh goji berries dipped in dark chocolate. They offer good source of Vitamin C, Calcium, Vitamin A and Iron.

Other preparations present in market include dark chocolate coated blueberries, dark chocolate coated orange peels, cranberries covered in dark chocolate etc. The variety just does not end.

Dark chocolate is known well for its blood thinning properties. It even lowers blood pressure and LDL.
Also, it simply elevates the good mood by boosting production of endorphins. Go on and munch on.

Now let’s talk about dried fruits like apples, gooseberries, mulberries and banana. Dried apples provide such nutrient variety. They carry both the type of dietary fibers (insoluble and soluble). This fiber may combine with dietary fat and maintain optimal cholesterol levels. Also, with the presence of Flavanoids, dried apples (and even other apple products) have shown effective in treatment of cancer, Alzheimer`s disease. It is a powerful source of antioxidants.

Likewise, banana chips (just as raw banana) are one of the excellent sources of potassium. It is also packed with antibiotic properties and with additional presence of pectin with maintains healthy colon and pancreas. The dried cherries are good source of Vitamin A and C to eat on during those fake hunger hours. Dried plums are equally yummy and healthy and interestingly carry no sucrose at all. The only forms of sugars they carry are fructose, and glucose. Dietary fibers, copper, potassium are its other nutrients.
