Daily Eye Care
Weak eyes are result of excess stress on eyes due to use of contact lens for long time period, lack of nutrition and too much computer exposure. Here are a few tips for taking care of eyes every day.
Role of Diet
It is important to keep the retina of the eyes healthy. Foods rich in carotenoid are helpful in keeping eyes healthy. Foods like carrots, tomatoes and fish are all very good for eyes. Antioxidants present in green vegetables promote health of eyes.
A meal comprising of these ingredients must be consumed every day. Broccoli and spinach are especially good. Spinach juice can be prepared with a little lemon juice.
Exercises
Rub the palms of your hands against each other and apply the warmth on the eyes. Do this 10 times. Make sure you are not wearing contact lens while doing this exercise.
Take a little break while working on computer. Every hour blink your eyes for 10-15 seconds. This improves circulation and eyes do not get tired easily.
You may close your eyes and simply roll the eye balls for a few seconds. This also improves the circulation.
Things to Remember
Certain things must be remembered. Do not wear contact lens for more than 8 hours. If they are making your feel uncomfortable then remove them immediately and splash fresh water to eyes.
Never rub your eye no matter how itchy you feel. The gentle tissues of the eyes get damaged and it may only worsen the eye condition. Always use sun glasses while going out. If you wear contact lens then do not drive without wearing glasses.
Make sure to splash fresh water 2-3 times in the day. You may use a gentle eye cleaning tonic every day.
Home Remedies for eye care
A mixture of lemon juice, zinger juice and honey is effective for daily eye care purpose. Pure rose water brings relief to tired eyes and cleans it. Eating 1 tbsp of fennel seeds with honey is helpful in gaining power of the eyes.
Application of potato and cucumber slices improves circulation and help in rejuvenating the skin around eyes.
