Curly Hair Care

July 14, 2009

In the time where straight hairs have established themselves as the most comfortable and graceful style, the curly hair style may be able to bring in a breath of fresh air to hair fashion.  Until then, those who already have naturally curly hair, here are a few tips of taking care of them and flaunting them happily.

The curly hair tends to get entangled very easily. You must use a wide-teethed comb to detangle them. The best time to detangle curly hair is when they are moist with conditioner. Initially, use your fingers to detangle and then comb them from root to the bottom. Never try to detangle when the hair are frizzy. This will make hair fall more.

One important thing to remember is to use only those products on your hair which are specially made for curly hair. This will help you in maintaining them more beautifully. Try not to play much with your hair. This is cause unwanted tangling. Curly hair tends to get dry. You can use hair serum daily to keep curls looking conditioned all day long.

Use hair packs once in a week to maintain luster of your hair. Do not use egg whites and honey on curly hair. These ingredients tend to change the bond of the hair over a period of time. They will open your curls and give them a wavy appearance.

Therefore, use hair packs that are available in market for curly hair or stick to the curd and amla (also reetha and shikaki) paste. You may prepare a hair mask using egg yellows with olive oil for beautiful curls.

In case your curls need deep conditioning, warm desi ghee and add finely grinded almonds to it. Massage the mixture into the scalp and let it work over night. It will make the curls softer, blacker and hydrated.

Curly hair looks beautiful on any face type. You may tie them in a ponytail or flaunt them on a breezy day. Well defined cuts (equal layers) do not justify the beauty of curly hair. Go for uneven layers that do not give impression of a uniform cutting. Try not to braid your hair. Let the natural curls develop themselves.
