Cure for Vaginal Dryness

Vaginal dryness is a trouble in itself. The acidic vaginal secretion helps in prevention of infection. The lubrication also helps in preventing its sides from rubbing against each other while you are active during the day. The friction produced causes the skin to swell and become red.

Cause of Vaginal Dryness

It has been found that vaginal dryness is most common in American women (almost 80%). Hormonal imbalance is one of the most common causes of vaginal dynes. Menopause and hysterectomy are also factors that lead to vaginal dryness. Many healthcare experts believe that regular consumption of contraceptive pills leads to vaginal dryness. Most serious form of vaginal dryness is experienced by women who undergo hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Remedies for Vaginal Dryness

Sesame oil is a natural lubricant. Take a cotton pad and soak it with sesame oil. Massage the pad gently on the vaginal walls and let the cotton remain there for the whole night. But keep in mind that you have no acne trouble in the surrounding area. Do not use it in case of acne in that area. Skin of some women may be too sensitive to the humid weather to use this remedy. Massaging would be just enough.

Aloe vera is an intense moisturizer. Saffron and ashwagandha, being aphrodisiacs, increase vaginal lubrication.  When all these three ingredients are taken in equal quantities, mixed with milk and consumed everyday; the trouble of vaginal dryness is vanishes. Applications of creams containing rich amounts of vitamin E are helpful. You may either choose vaginal creams made of marigold, Mexican yam or aloe vera.

Role of Diet

Increased consumption of dairy products, especially yogurt helps in overcoming the problem of vaginal dryness. Flax seeds can be eaten with cereals every morning. You may consume as a side snack in lunch and dinner as well. Including rice, corn, wheat and barley are also helpful.

Caffeine and alcohol and other type of antihistamine that are found in common beverages tend to dry the vagina. Avoiding these ingredients help in gaining vaginal lubrication. Foods that are rich source of phytoestrogens are also helpful in treating vaginal dryness due to hormonal imbalance.
