Constipation: Causes and Cure
Constipation may be consequent of some health problem and it itself causes many problems. Usually, the trouble of constipation can be solved by self only.
All you need to do is to identify the cause and accordingly apply the solution. The most common reasons of constipation include a diet low in fiber or relatively higher in fat content.
The dietary cause can be solved simply by including raw fruits and salads. Mostly, people you thrive on non-vegetarian diet tend to develop this trouble.
Other reason could be decreased consumption of water and other fluids. Water works as universal solvent. It helps in pushing the food through the entire gastrointestinal system. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day does the deed. Those who experience trouble early morning may drink 2 glasses of fresh water before going to toilet.
Drinking milk also helps in condition of constipation. Tea must be avoided empty stomach when troubled by constipation. Coffee and other products which include caffeine must be avoided. Hormonal changes can also cause constipation.
In such a case complete check up must be done and proper medication be taken. A diet rich in fiber must be taken regularly. One very major lifestyle reason for development of constipation is very less physical activity. Those people who regularly exercise or follow an active lifestyle have much less chance sot develop constipation.
As much as possible the medications to cure constipation must be avoided unless prescribed. For example, during pregnancy the tendency to developed constipation increases.
The common home remedy for constipation is eating two bananas each day. If taken with a warm glass of milk the advantages increase.
Isabgula is the natural fiber preparation, which when taken with curd helps in expulsion of faces. Eating too much of rice also causes constipation. Therefore it is better to eat chapattis for such persons.
Uncured constipation causes severe troubles of GIT.
