To have a beautiful blemish-free fair skin is a dream of every woman. Much effort is needed and necessary changes in lifestyle need to be made. With a right skin care regime anyone can have a beautiful body skin.

Role of Diet

Vitamin E, B and C play vital role in beautifying the skin. The vitamin C is involved in production of collagen (skin components) and acts as a powerful antioxidant, along with vitamin E to fight signs of aging (blemishes and darkness).

Natural sources of vitamin C are strawberries, raspberries, lemon and oranges. Vitamin E is available through wheat, papaya and carrots. Vitamin B helps in improving skin tone and improves body circulation. Natural sources of vitamin B include yeast, cereals and yogurt.

Selenium and Zinc protect the skin from any damage by the sun. Hence it prevents hyper pigmentation. Oysters and lobsters are good sources of zinc. Selenium is present in tuna, crabs and Brazilian nuts.

Proteins are more than necessary in order to repair the tissues of body every day. Protein rich foods like lean meats, beans, sprouts and cheese help in rejuvenation of skin and thus replace the dead skin cells of the body.

One needs to avoid excess consumption of carbohydrates, especially in form of sugars. These often cause skin problems like acne and dullness due to reduced circulation.

Home Remedies

The first step to a beautiful skin is to have a clean skin. Daily bath and moisturizing are more than necessary.

Rather than using soaps with strong chemicals, use soaps prepared with natural sources like rose, sandalwood, neem, berberry, etc.

Mix 6 tbsp of fuller`s earth with 2 tbsp of honey and 2 tbsp of lemon juice. Adding enough rose water, prepare a smooth paste. Apply it all over your body. Let it dry completely then take bath with tap water.

Take tomato juice, curd and oatmeal in equal quantities. Apply the mixture on the entire body, including face. Keep for 20 minutes then take a bath.

Similarly, body pack can be prepared by mixing gram flour, raw milk and lemon juice.

All these remedies need to be done on a clean body, preferably after bath; for best results. Also, these must be done every week to get desired results.
