Common Dieting Mistakes
Dieting has certain rules and regulations which need to be followed or else you will have to face some serious consequences. This includes the yo-yo effect, ulceration, constipation, nervousness, water retention and malnutrition. Hence it is important to keep in mind the possible errors you might commit while on a diet.
Skipping Meals
Most of the people think that skipping meals will help them skip intake of calories. You may be staying away from the calories but this does not really help in losing weight.
The size of the fat cells may reduce which increase once the dieting finishes and people start to eat regularly.
Besides skipping meals leads to binge eating because when you have not eaten for so many hours then you get tempted to eat whatever you see around. Let us assume that you skipped your breakfast on a particular day.
The breakfast, which has supposed to be taken by 9 am, is still due on your body even after noon. There will always be a temptation to snack on biscuits and tea/coffee. This is where the trouble starts.
When you feed yourself after so many hours, you are actually feeding empty calories, even if the food that you are eating is less in amount. Hence, it is important to eat healthy.
Too much of Snacking
It is true that a lot of healthy snacking is available but eating too many snacks will create indigestion. Healthy snacks should be a part of the diet. The diet should not primarily constitute of the snacks.
Sugary Fluids
This is a very common mistake committed by people who go on a diet. They start drinking a lot of fluids, the one that are usually available commercially. They wonder why they are not losing weight despite of being on the liquid diet. The answer is that most of the drinks available commercially carry sugar and sodium, not to forget the carbon dioxide content.
Even though you are not eating anything solid you are still consuming a lot of calories.
Weekend Food Break
If you have been fasting since 6 days and on the 7th day you think you may become liberal with your food choices, then you are strongly mistaken. It is important that you choose a diet plan that you can follow steadily.
