Winters are full in bloom and the Beta-carotene shaded carrots can be seen everywhere! They colorful vegetable is actually an edible root and is a natural source of many healthy nutrients. Here is a peep into the carrot world.

Carrots are the richest source of Vitamin A, which is built by the body using the chemical carotene provided by the carrots. Vitamin A helps prevent Night Blindness. This is an eye disorder in which a person is unable to distinguish between objects at night. It is therefore taken to improve eyesight.

Carrot juices are beneficial to provide relief to week eyes. Due to optimal presence of vitamin A, the vegetable helps look skin, nails and hair healthy. Many Lip balms are also carry ingredient of carrot seed oil to provide better appearance. Other vitamins that are present in carrots are Vitamin B, Niacin, Riboflavin, Vitamin C and Vitamin D. Biotin is also present. All vitamins are required by body for general well being.

Minerals such as Calcium, iron and phosphorous are present in Carrots. Calcium and phosphorous are essential minerals for growth and maintenance of healthy bones and teeth. The rich antioxidant capability of carrots and has been found to be useful in preventing cancers of breast and prostate.

It effectively fights the toxins present in the form of free radicals. Carrot juices are good way to consume antioxidants by elderly and small children who obviously cannot nibble on the hard roots.
They even provide prevention against diabetes. Blood sugar levels can be maintained with regular intake of carrots Women who suffer from the problem of uneven menstrual flow should know that eating carrots would help a better menstrual flow.

Due to presence of rich Fiber content he carrots as well as its juice help keep colon healthy by increasing intestinal emptying. To have healthier body organs such as kidney, liver and gums eat carrots. It is not a monopoly of “Bug`s Bunny”.
