Foot care is as important as any other skin care. To maintain beautiful and healthy foot one has to take some care. It’s good if you make foot care a daily routine.
It’s necessary to inspect your feet daily so that any infection can be traced out easily and timely. If you have itchy skin at the foot it can be a fungal infection, which needs treatment.
Clean your foot regularly. Soak your feet in lukewarm water with some soap in it. Remove the hard skin by using a pumice stone or a skin filer and dry with a towel and apply good moisturizer on your feet and also between the toes.
Using scrub also keeps the feet soft and smooth. It helps to improve the blood circulation as well. Make it a daily practice. Regular cleaning of the feet prevents the development of cracks, which when not taken care of make the heels hard and sometimes painful too.
Trim your nails regularly and properly otherwise it can cause ingrown toenails. Always file your nails in one direction or else they can break easily.
Wear shoes that are comfortable for your feet. Don’t wear tight shoes as it can cause harm. Men should wear cotton socks with shoes (these absorb moisture) and women should avoid wearing high heels (they cause damage to foot joints).
People with diabetes have to take extra care for their feet as they develop various serious problems if not treated at the right time. Specially designed foot creams and powders are available in the market to keep them dry and odor free.
As you go out in sun you put sunscreen on your face and arms. Don’t forget to put it on feet too as they can also get tanned.
