Burn Scar Removal
May 29, 2009
Imagine you have a beautiful body and skin, thanks to the great care that you take of them. People envy your skin and often ask you for tips on keeping the skin fresh and glowing. But somehow some portion of your skin gets burned and a scar appears on your soft skin. This happens with many of us, especially housewives who are busy with the household chores and often get skin burns. Scars are a disturbing sight to see for all of us. But scars are not caused only by burning of skin; other causes include electric shocks, reaction of a chemical with skin, exposure to radiation or even sun tanning.
Basically, scars are of three types. Keloid scars are an overgrowth of the scar tissue which will grow beyond the injured area. Hypertrophic scars are similar to Keloid scars, except they do not expand beyond the affected area. Contracture scars are the ones which are complex as they cause permanent tightening of the skin and may also damage the underlying nerves and tissues causing more skin problems.
Depending upon the scar type and the severity of the scar, there are many treatments to remove the burn scars. The most common one includes application of some skin creams to the burned area. But this is not a very effective treatment as the cream will only reduce the pain and moisturize the surrounding skin; it will never be able to remove the burn scar. For that there are better treatments like skin grafting, scarring treatment, heal burn scars, burn scar remodeling and scar & wound healing. All these dermatological treatments are highly effective in removing the burn scars from the body. There are some natural treatments as well but they have certain limitations as they cannot cure the scars that have higher burned percentage and also the healing time is much longer.
Therefore, if you wish to remove the burn scars from your body, please do not take any treatment on your own. It is better to consult a dermatologist or skin specialist as he will be in a better position to suggest the best treatment for you depending upon your age, percentage of burn experienced and other factors.
