Bug Bites Remedy

Imagine that you are cleaning your house. You are trying to clean the remotest corner of the room and try to clean it and suddenly you sense as if someone pricked your hand. You feel the pain and try to examine your hand.

On inspection you see that a small portion of skin has turned red, swollen and you experience burning sensation in that area. Now these are the symptoms of a bug bite. Maybe when you were busy cleaning, a bug stung your hand and ran away; leaving you in extreme pain.

First of all, you need not panic if a bug bites you. The fact that it injured you is not as important as the amount of venom it left behind. The venom needs to be removed from the body before it causes serious problems. Remember that nature has given so many insects that can bite, but it has also given many herbs that can reduce the itching of those bites. Let’s see the best herbal remedies for bug bite.

Firstly, put the affected area under running tap water. Let the venom run out with water. Now wash the area with soap and let it dry. You have now removed the venom of the bug from your skin, now you need to reduce the itching and swelling. Take a banana peel and rub it on the affected area. If banana is not available, use an onion. Rubbing an onion or banana on the affected area helps in removing poison, if any.

Make a solution consisting of tea tree oil, lavender and peppermint and apply this on the affected area. You will feel immediate relief after applying this solution as it will provide a soothing effect by stopping itching and reducing skin inflammation. You can also keep applying ice pack after every 30 minutes but do not apply ice directly on the skin.

Monitor the area after some time and if swelling and itching persists or you start feeling dizzy or feverish, consult your doctor. Do not try to scratch the bite due to frustration as it may lead to further infection.
