Binge Eating Disorder
Once the habit of eating meals on time gets interrupted there is huge risk of developing eating disorders. Binge eating disorder is one such eating disorder.
Many a times the person who has developed binge eating disorder is unable to understand in starting. It may start unable to eat on time and when they eat they simply eat much more than required. This often happens with people who do crash dieting. They may not eat anything for days and when things become uncontrollable they just go on eating.
Here are some of the symptoms for binge eating disorders. Binge eaters often eat alone. They are quite conscious for people to know that they have this weakness for food. They will eat even if they are not hungry. They will always have a reason for eating which they give to themselves. They often eat more when feeling depressed or bored.
When such people have binge eating attacks they will eat much more vigorously than the way they eat normally.They generally also show regret once they have eaten a lot during binge episodes.Obese and over weight people usually suffer form binge eating. It is more common in women than men.
The exact cause for binge eating is still under research. Many scientists suggest studying of brain chemicals and metabolism of binge eaters. The most common cause seen is depression and boredom. Binge eaters often have low self esteem and are unable to cope up with eater functions properly.
Binge eaters are at high risk for a series of health problems. To name some, high pressure and high cholesterol levels are most common. Such people also tend to develop cardiovascular diseases like arthrosclerosis where formation of plaque occurs. They may also develop any form of cancer due to decreased immunity. Occurrence of gall balder disease and diabetes type 2 are yet other serious risks for binge eaters.
