The Indian gooseberry is much more than a hair care remedy. There are many different ways in which amla have been used traditionally and have been a time trusted herb. Here is what you can do with this herb.

Amla is bombarded with vitamin C content. It has over more than 200 times more vitamin C than oranges. Vitamin C boosts the natural immunity of the body. It works as an antioxidant vitamin to fights signs of external and internal ageing.  The consumption of amla can be done through many ways to avail benefits. Once may peel them and stream then with sugar to form what is called “murabba”. This “murabba” is asked to be taken with warm milk to increase its potency.

Pure amla powder is also available in market.  You can mix 1 tsbp of amla powder in a glass of water and drink on early morning empty stomach. This remedy is said to improve eye sight.

Amla is also a coolant. It is one of those best things to use during summers. Amla based drinks can be consumed any time of the day to rejuvenate senses. Since it is a bitter herb, it is often mixed wit added herbs and flavoring agents to sit taste.

Amla is a nervous system stimulant. It is an amazing brain tonic.  It also helps in boosting memory.  You can consume amla based daily tonics to avail these benefits.

Now, the beautifying part of amla. When it comes to hair care, nothing beats amla. Amla has the power to stop graying of hair and help grow back natural black hair. In a steel glass take water and mix amla powder to make a smooth paste. Let it be over night. In morning, apply this paste and let it work for one hour. Wash off with normal water and do not use shampoo. Use curd as a conditioner.
