Be Aware of Testicular Cancer
Testicular, although is percentage wise less prevalent globally, yet about 8000 cases are recorded in US alone. If detected on time, testicular cancer can be cured completely. One can do primary diagnosis at home every month. This can be done by taking a bath or a hot shower. After this, the scrotum becomes very loose. Each testicle should be tested. Pea-shaped lumps should carefully observe. Due to growth of tumour, the testicles may feel additionally hard to touch.
Symptoms and visible signs include sensitivity in testicular area, decreased interest sex. Formation of hydrocele may occur. Hydrocele is occurrence of fluid in the scrotum area. Some men also observe abdominal pain which may be described as a “heavy†feeling. Lumbago is also experienced. It is a medial term to describe lower back pain. The excretion of semen may be accompanied by blood. It becomes difficult to perform day to day functions with regular vigor.
The diagnosis for testicular cancer is done by performing histology of the tissues. The areas tested include Varicocele, Hematocele and Epidymitis.Testicular cancer has four stages. The first is called localization of testis. The second stage can be explained as the one in which metastasis and retroperitoneal occurs. The third stage in which after metastasis and retro-peritoneal Paraaortic lymph nodes are formed. In the forth stage liver or lungs or both are involved.
Coming to the treatments for testicular cancer we have Orchiectomy since most of testicular cancers are malignant. During initial stage, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection is performed. At stage 2, Radiation therapy is performed. This too depends on other biological conditions as well. Chemotherapy is perfomed for additional treatment benefit.
It is really good news that testicular cancer is treatable once detected at an early stage. Many men hardly bother to have a look at their testis periodically. The awareness is what is absolutely necessary.
