Backache Cures
Backache is often a result of bad sitting posture, wrong mattress, wrong adjustment of seat while driving car and too much of physical task. If the backache is due to an old injury, then you must consult a physiotherapist. Here are a few tips to deal with your backache problem.Exercises
There are certain simple exercises which help in getting relief from the lower and upper back ache.
To provide relief to the complete backache problem, stand straight. Bring the feet together. Place your hands to the sides of the body. Gently raise the arms sideways such that they are above your head. Simultaneously, raise your heels. Clasp your hands together and stretch the body upwards.
You will feel a stretch in your back. This exercise is extremely helpful in providing relief at the end of the day when you come home completely exhausted in the office.
Another exercise can be done by doing a side stretch. Stand straight and spread your legs a little more than the shoulder-distance apart. Bend your upper body to the right such than your left arm is straight and in alignment with the body.
Sit straight and bring your hands behind your back. Clasp your hands together and stretch them backwards. This can be done while you are sitting in your office.
Changes in Lifestyle
You must choose carefully the chair that you sit on for so many long hours in office. It must be comfortable and should not make your back feel stiff. The chair should be such that it can be adjusted according to your height. Similarly, adjust your car seat.
Your spine should be straight while you are asleep. Try sleeping without pillows below your head. Your mattress should not make your spine sink into the bed. Choose a mattress which keeps your back straight without being hard.
Those who wear heels are at a greater risk of getting their spine damaged. Those who already suffer from backache will find the problem getting worse.
Home Remedies
Paste of garlic is said to be helpful in treating backache. Soak a warm towel in solution of Epsom salt. Wring it well and apply it on the back for 20 minutes. It should be able to de-stress the back.
