7 Natural Treatments For Gas
Formation of gas in the stomach can be very distressing for the person and an embarrassing thing as well. Gas cannot be controlled and can become a real problem when you are with a group. The main cause of gas formation is faulty diet and wrong eating. There are also other reasons for gas formations like the use of certain medications.
Gas formation can be treated at home if it is not connected to any major illness. These natural treatment methods ensure that the gas is relieved and frequent usage will prevent gas formation as well.
1. Ginger
Taking ginger after meals will help in relieving gas as ginger helps in preventing indigestion and also removes infections and bacterial actions in the stomach. Grate some ginger into a cup of boiling water and simmer for 10 minutes. Cool and drink this tea after every meal. You can also chew ginger after every meal to get the same effect. Ginger will also remove the pain that is caused due to indigestion and gas.
2. Chamomile
Chamomile is a soothing and relaxing herb and hence good for treating gas. Chamomile tea can be used for relaxing the muscles of the stomach which in turn will help in releasing the gas that is trapped inside the stomach. Prepare chamomile tea by adding one tablespoon of chamomile with water and boiling it or using a chamomile tea bag for making the tea. Take this after every meal to relieve gas.
3. Peppermint
Peppermint tea also acts as a relaxing agent of the stomach muscles. Make peppermint tea by adding a tablespoon of peppermint with a cup of water. Cover the pot and simmer for 10 minutes. Drain and drink when cool, after you have taken your meal. This will ensure that no gas is trapped in your stomach to give you severe pain and other symptoms.
4. Fennel Seeds
When you have indigestion, formation of gas is imminent. Taking fennel seeds will help in curing digestion related problems and associated pain. Fennel seeds have to be taken 15 minutes before your meals and after your meals as well to prevent gas formations inside your stomach.
5. Apple Cider Vinegar
When gas is accumulated inside your stomach, the discomfort that you feel until the gas is relieved is tremendous. Apple cider vinegar is a great remedy for preventing gas inside the stomach. After you have your food, take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with one glass of lukewarm water. This will immediately relieve your gas and prevent pain and discomfort.
6. Baking Soda
Gas formation inside the stomach can be relieved almost instantly by taking baking soda. Baking soda will help you belch which is all that you need to stop the pain and the uncomfortable feeling inside your stomach. A quarter teaspoon of baking soda has to be taken with a glass of water after your meals in order to prevent gas.
7. Water
Sometimes drinking water too can relieve gas. How? When you drink water, you either burp or urinate which are both required for relaxing the stomach walls and release gas from inside the stomach.
