Essential oil of clove is equally effective in alleviating the pain associated with abscessed tooth. As you apply the essential oil on the tooth as well as gums, it deadens the nerves temporarily.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a wonderful antiseptic and antifungal agent. Use the magical tea tree oil as a mouthwash. Rinse your mouth with tea tree oil at least thrice daily till the infection is gone.
Put tea tree oil in your mouth and move it around in such a way that it touches the infected portion completely. As an alternative, you can also opt for hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash. Remember not to swallow any of these mixtures.
Echinacea and Spilanthes
Both are better known as toothache plant and are being used for the purpose since decades. Whatever is the reason of toothache – exposed nerves, abscessed tooth or infection – these home cures bring temporary relief to the pain.
They are available in tinctures and so should be dropped over the infected portion in the mouth. They also boost the immune system thereby making it stronger against infections.

So, it is customary that you include foods in your diet that boost your immune system. In that case, you can go for foods rich in zinc and Vitamin C. Some good sources of zinc are oysters, wheat germs, sesame seeds, etc. Some good sources of Vitamin C are oranges, guava, capsicum, etc.
