6 Herbal Treatments For Teeth Whitening

The fact that many of us have yellow and discoloured teeth speak volumes about our habits and interest in taking care of teeth. White teeth can add a sparkle to our beautiful face and render that special charm to our faces. How can we attain whiter teeth? Do we have to be in and out of cosmetic dental clinics to get them? Absolutely not! White teeth can be achieved without spending a penny from your pocket.

Quite a few herbs and leaves can be used for dental whitening at the comfort of your home.

1. Turmeric Powder

Turmeric powder can be used as a whitening agent not just for the skin, but for teeth as well. Being an antibacterial agent and cleansing agent as well, turmeric powder can help in removing the bacteria and dirt from the teeth as well. Make a paste of freshly ground turmeric and add some salt to it. Use a tooth brush for brushing your teeth with turmeric. Lime juice too can be used along with turmeric for a better effect. However, avoid using lime on a daily basis as citric acid can spoil you enamel.

2. Sage

Take some sage leaves that are dried and crush them lightly. Use this for brushing your teeth. Use a toothbrush for better effect. Sage leaves leave your teeth very white with continuous usage and prevent plaque formation as well. After brushing, rinse your mouth with sage water prepared by boiling sage leaves for 10 minutes.

3. Bark Of Walnut Tree

Grind the bark of walnut tree and use it for brushing your teeth. This is helpful in whitening your teeth with continuous usage. Walnut too is a good natural way to make your teeth white. Take walnut and crush it before using it for rubbing your teeth. Since walnut is also a nutritious nut, you will do a better job by consuming it rather than use it for brushing your teeth for whitening.

4. Orange Rind

Orange rind is full of vitamin C which is a bleaching agent and hence a great way to whiten your teeth. Take the inner part of the orange rind and rub thoroughly on the teeth. You can also grate the orange rind and use a toothbrush for brushing your teeth. Doing this for 2 weeks or so will ensure that your teeth turn noticeably whiter and cleaner than usual.

5. Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera is a wonderful medicinal herb that is used for healing and beautifying purposes. Take fresh aloe gel and use it as toothpaste for brushing your teeth. You can also mix aloe gel to some lemon juice for getting a stronger action from the process.

6. Bay Leaves

Bay leaves are natural whitening agents that can be used for whitening your teeth. Grind bay leaves and brush your teeth with this to attain white teeth. Bay leaves can also be added to any citrus fruit juice for brushing as citrus fruits are high in citric acid which helps in whitening the teeth as well.
